How to Throw the Most Adorable Ballerina Princess Tea Party: Part 1

January 10, 2017 Events, Food

I had so much fun hosting The Most Adorable Ballerina Princess Birthday Tea Party (Wow, that’s a mouthful!)

It couldn’t have been more sweet!!

My best friend’s three year old daughter, Gracie, loves ballerinas and tea parties, so we came up with the cute idea of combining the Nutcracker Suite with a Princess Tea Party! Oh. My. Gosh…

It was The Land of Sweets — on Steroids!!

In fact, I think if I put it all in one post we’d be too SWEET-ED OUT (giggle)  so I’m going to divide it into two sections:

Food and Decorations!

Party Food

I happen to be hungry right now so let’s start with food!! With the theme being ballerinas and tea parties we thought the color scheme had to be baby pink, white and gold. Wow! I have to say, the food looked almost too beautiful to eat! Key word being almost…..giggle : )

Check out the Ballerina Birthday Cake!

Ok, I realize this is a little over the top for a three-year-old birthday party but I LOVE the cake to be the focal point of the tea party, so after getting lost for hours on Pinterest searching for cakes, we knew it was going to be fabulous!!!!

As much as I wish I could create a masterpiece like this…I had to turn this one over to the professionals!! There’s a great bakery in my town I use for all of my cakes, and they can seriously make anything my crazy mind thinks up (and trust me, there have been some doozies!)

For the rest of the sweet treats, and considering the party was for three-year-olds, we decided to keep it to simple finger foods. These worked out great for the kids (who obviously didn’t want to sit through a meal) and also for the mothers who could chat and snack at the same time!

If you haven’t already, invest in some classic tiered serving trays. I keep plenty in stock at my home and use them all the time! Home Goods always has lots of fun options to browse through, and you can also check out a few of my favorite picks below! Classic tiered serving trays are great for stacking and filling with items such as petit fours, cake pops, and chocolate covered strawberries! Yumm!! I really need to go get something to eat!!

Speaking of strawberries…we had a chocolate fountain flowing with pink chocolate and plenty of fruit available for dipping!

Chocolate covered pretzels are another easy-peasy adorable idea! Simply dip the pretzels into a chocolate color of your choice and garnish with sprinkles! Serve them in a cute little glass vase filled with marshmallows and it looks like you went all out!

Little Tea Sandwiches are a must at a tea party! Let the birthday girl pick her favorites,  grab a few cookie cutters to match the theme, and turn them into finger-licking-fun!

P.s. the adorable pink tiered tray below is 45% off right now!! Find it here!

Sugar Cookies  are always a hit!

And now for the Tea part of the Tea Party!

Stop it right now!! I can hardly stand how cute these cookie houses look garnishing the tea cups! I am all about the details. They’re small, but make all the difference!

My final tip when planning children’s parties: Don’t forget to get the child’s input! Remember….it really is about making them feel special!!

I can’t wait to share Part 2… Stay tuned!

P.S. Shop some of my serving tray picks below!

Hugs… Jennifer

Hi Cindy! I go to a local bakery in Dallas called Stein’s Bakery. They’re brilliant, and taste even better than they look!!
