If you haven’t noticed, pineapples are a huge trend right now!
I see them all over in home decor, fashion, and food!! My first love of pineapples began when I was about 9 years old and my parents took me to a pineapple plantation in Hawaii! I remember eating so much pineapple and then that evening going to a Polynesian Show where they served me ice cream in a hollowed-out pineapple! I have been hooked ever since!
The Perfect Pineapple Pool Party!
I designed the table around these three adorable pineapples!! I just love the happy colors!!
I placed large bird of paradise tropical leaves as my base down the center of the table, then added the pineapples, and finally filled in with tropical flowers and fabulous wet-looking water lilies.
I ordered these assorted glass candle holders because they are perfect for parties, casual dinners, or an evening around the pool!
For the place setting I used some leaf placemats I already had on hand, a simple white dinner plate, yellow melamine salad plates, and topped them with these happy pineapple plates, perfect for bread or dessert! So cute!! For the glasses, I found these acrylic (they look like glass right?) goblets in multiple colors!! I chose the blue in order to pull out the blue in the plates! I couldn’t find the perfect pineapple straw so I made one!! Here is a simple DIY activity….. I broke the picks off of pineapple cake toppers and simply hot-glued them to the straw!! So easy and so festive!!
To display these “I-don’t-have-words-for-how-cute-these-cookies-are” cookies from Tart Bakery, and my own homemade “pineapple cheese ball”, I used pink serving trays that coordinate with the yellow plates on the table!
And these adorable pineapple tumblers are from Michael’s as well!
For the visiting area of the logia, I dressed the sofas in pineapple pillows accented with bright yellow pillows! For the fireplace mantle, I repeated the adorable colored pineapples from the table display and draped a simple pineapple garland! And just in case we didn’t get enough dessert, I placed a few more goodies on the coffee table… giggle :).
To continue the theme into the pool, I got this giant pineapple floatie ! My kids love it!
Oh! And I couldn’t forget… No pineapple party would be complete without an actual live pineapple! My local nursery in Dallas had this one and I couldn’t resist! It will grow into a full-sized pineapple!! How ADORABLE!!
Based on the hours of giggles, I would say this Perfect Pineapple Party was……… PERFECT!
Wow! I love your blog! And your style 🙂 I’ve been noticing all the pineapples this season, and I love the trend. Like you, I visited a pineapple plantation and feasted on delicious pineapple, but the one I visited was in Okinawa, Japan. It was so fun. Thanks for all the splendid ideas. I’ll be back for more!
