With the weather so beautiful in Dallas lately my mind has been racing around planning fun spring and early summer events! I always get my best inspirations while out-and-about running my kids around! Have you noticed, like I have, that PINEAPPLES are everywhere!!? I began my first love of pineapples when I was about 8 years old and my family went on a vacation to Hawaii! I still remember drinking can after can of sweet pineapple juice!
When I start formulating my ideas for an event, MY BEST KEPT SECRET is eBay ! Did you know that 81% of all items on eBay are NEW! So often for me, it’s a one-stop shopping experience because they have everything!! I saw this bar cart and jumped on ordering it!! How cute is it to use outside as part of the Pineapple Party?!!
When styling a bar cart be sure to keep in mind who is actually going to be using it! In this case, this party is for my 9 year old daughter McKenna Kate and her friends. That being said, I loaded it with everything little girls love….. Cake pops, cookies, and tons of fun options for drinks!
As a super fun DIY food item, I made this EASY Pineapple Cheese Ball! I have to admit it was the BEST cheeseball I have eaten! I actually made up the recipe myself (I like making up recipes because then I can tweek them until they are perfect 🙂 so I am going to include it here for you to try!
Pineapple Cheeseball
Ingredients:
1 top of a pineapple
1 package of full pecans
2 packages of cream cheese
3 full green onions chopped
1 ½ cup of sharp shredded cheddar cheese
5 slices of crisp bacon, chopped
1 tablespoon of dry Ranch seasoning (I used Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning)
Blend all ingredients together to make sure the flavors are dispersed evenly.
Place on your dish and shape into a pineapple
Once you have your shape, pick out all the beautiful whole pecans and decorate.
TIP: Start at the bottom and layer the pecans slightly overlapping each other to give the pineapple illusion!
Take the top of an actual pineapple and cut it in half so it lays evenly on the platter!
Chill, serve and enjoy!
I have only had one cookie decorating class and I feel like my skills are still sub-par… giggle… BUT I now know the owners (and adore them) at TART BAKERY so whenever I need something fabulous, I call them!! Not only are their cookies adorable, they taste awesome!
From Fun to Formal!
As CUTE as the bar cart is outside, I decided to try it for my husband’s and my date night! I thought it would look good in our master bedroom, but WOW…. look how BEAUTIFULLY ELEGANT it looks!!
Simply by styling it differently we are able to go from fun to formal!! I incorporated a beautiful ice bucket, champagne glasses, a gold candlestick, a fabulous blue and white porcelain vase, and two mineral pieces! My husband and I don’t drink but we love having movie nights in our room, sipping yummy non-alcoholic sparkling juice and eating petit fours and fresh fruit!!
The Pink Chair
Oh….. I also have to mention this pink chair !! I knew I wanted to incorporate a pink chair as part of my bedroom redo and sure enough, while I was event planning, I saw this one on eBay!! It is exactly what I was looking for!! I will say, however, my TIP with Ebay is to use the “Buy Now” option! Maybe I’m just not patient :)!
