Setting Your Easter Table!
I actually have more fun setting the table in the kitchen for the weeks leading up to Easter than I do for setting the dining room table for Easter dinner on Sunday! Maybe its because I’m a little more relaxed at heart. I set this table early and we use it every day throughout the month leading up to Easter!
I grew up with a huge FAMILY GARDEN! My dad believed in eating foods we grew ourselves… free of pesticides and chemicals. I remember so many times him saying, “Everything we are eating we produced ourselves!” We had chickens, cows, sheep, horses, a large fruit orchard, and a massive (yes, it seemed massive to me as a child) vegetable garden!! I loved everything about it… except for the weeding and the occasional earwig bugs that pinched me as I was helping shuck the corn!
It was the CARROTS that were my favorite to harvest!! I loved to pull the carrot from the ground and see how BIG it was!! I’m not sure what commercial farmers do to make their carrots so perfectly shaped because ours took on all kinds of crazy shapes and we would laugh trying to pinpoint what they resembled!!
Perhaps, because of my many memories of picking carrots, I am always drawn to carrots this time of year and use them throughout my decor! To me, they just say HAPPY and HEALTHY!
Always remember to decorate your light fixture! It is so unexpected yet we get so much credit!! You just can’t miss it!!
As I was writing this post I got sidetracked on all the FABULOUS EASTER SALES going on right now!! So many things are 50% off …. INCLUDING MACKENZIES- CHILD!! Below are a few of my favorites!!
Hugs… Jennifer
