I have to admit… my favorite brilliant beyond brilliant idea for Halloween this year is dressing my furniture in costumes!!
I found super-fun Halloween fabrics and made slipcovers with coordinating pillows for my chairs and an orange tutu for the couch!! I can hardly stand how cute it turned out!!
The tutu was a piece. of. cake. (or candy, since it’s halloween…giggle)
All you need to do is find some orange tulle at your local craft store! Combine that with a cute seasonal ribbon and sew them together. The next step is as simple as pinning the combination on to the couch! (I use straight pins). If you’re not the seamstress-type, you can simply pin the tulle to the couch, and then pin the ribbon on top!
Seriously it’s that easy, can you believe it?! Trust me…no one will have seen this done before, and you will look SO creative!
As for the slipcovers, don’t be afraid to go a little crazy! Search “Halloween fabrics” online, and don’t be afraid to mix and match. I have four fabrics on just one of my pillows! If it looks a little scary…perfect, it’s halloween!
