If you’re like me and never want Summer to end… the best thing to do is bring it indoors! Giggle 🙂
As you know, I love a designing with a theme in mind! This “Under the Sea” bathroom in our home is one of my favorite rooms in the whole house! It is so fun and happy! It’s the bathroom everyone uses as we rush out the door, and you can’t help but smile when you walk in, so everyone leaves the house happy!! We can practically feel the summer sunshine all year long!
I recently switched out a few fun accessories in this bathroom and in doing so, I realized I’ve never shared this room with you before! Actually, as I think about it, there are several rooms in my home I’ve never shared with you…. not intentionally, it’s just I haven’t thought of it before! So, I’m excited that I’m finally sharing this happy, underwater room with you and I hope you love it!
I decided to add some fresh linens and some adorable picture frames to bring a little life into the room. Decorating with photos is one of my favorite things to do because of the personal touch it adds. When adding photos to a room, I love to stick to the theme! You’ll notice I found some old family photos from the beach, and they not only go perfectly with the room, but also bring back happy memories every time we look at them 🙂 It’s always surprising to me how expensive picture frames can be, so I was so excited when I found these nautical frames at Walmart!
I also added these nautical wheels on the side of my linen cabinet and I love how they look! They are a simple way to change things up, add a fun nautical touch, and remind us of how much fun we have switching out drivers on our boat!!
I fell in love with the idea of this sink the first time I saw a similar one!! Of course, I wanted to make it my own so I hand-picked specific tiles and had it made! How adorable is our little turtle friend?! I actually used the sink as my starting point for designing the entire space!! If it didn’t work with the sink it got nixed!!
I also love what a fun touch this new soap dispenser adds! With the painted starfish on the front it fits right in!
I wanted to do more than a simple tile design in the shower so I created a beautiful mural of shells and tile to tie in the Under the Sea theme!
This bathroom is accessible from outside too and we love to use it as our pool bath! Whenever my kids have pool parties, we have everyone use this bathroom! I love it because it keeps in theme with being outside in the water… and mostly because it’s accessible from outside, so I don’t have kids walking through my home soaking wet to use the restroom 🙂 It’s a win, win! The door design is hand-painted! We had an artist paint not only this door, but other places in our home as well, our pantry door and one of our staircases to name a couple!
It’s so fun to see what switching out just a few pieces in a room can do to freshen up the space! I was browsing around Walmart and noticed they had a lot of fun coastal and nautical pieces at affordable prices. I was sold immediately! And because they offer free two-day shipping on so many of their pieces I was able to put together this fun refresh before summer is over!
I’ve linked everything I used to refresh my Under the Sea bathroom for you below, as well as some other fun, nautical finds! I hope you find some pieces you love!
Hugs… Jennifer
Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post. I hand-selected and purchased all pieces on my own.
