Lots of you have been asking for an update on McKenna Kate’s bedroom, and we’re getting close to having it completed! She is absolutely loving how it’s turning out! : )
The “theme” is pink, white and fluffy!
Believe it or not, a long, long time ago Sam and McKenna Kate shared this bedroom and it had an ocean theme! McKenna Kate slept on a seashell bed, and Sam slept on a pirate ship bed! I tried digging up some old photos, and in this one you can see what it looked like right before we moved all of the furniture in! Can you tell it was an ocean theme?!
Sam moved into Steven’s old bedroom after Steven got married, and we’ve been meaning to re-do McKenna Kate’s bedroom for a while now. One of the first things we did was paint the walls! I let my kids have full design decisions on their bedrooms. I want to ensure it’s their own space where they can escape the stresses of the world and relax. McKenna Kate wanted white walls, but decided to keep the fun clouds on the ceilings!
We’re not quite done yet, however I wanted to show you how far it has come!
Mickey’s favorite space in her room is her “hang out” nook. She saw this amazing fluffy bean bag on Walmart and decided to design the space around it! It’s the perfect size for the space, and she LOVES it! It comes in a few different colors – if you love it I recommend grabbing it quickly because it was just restocked and sold out very fast last time! She’s also been eyeing this fluffy blanket to complete the look! You can never get too much “fluff!” Or can you….. giggle ; )
The space isn’t quite complete yet. She wants to hang some fun fairy lights around, and we may add some art as well. She also loves having a cute bar cart to style with some of her favorite things! I’ve linked a similar bar cart for you here! The shag rug underneath the bean bag ties together the pink you’ll see in the rest of the room! Again…it’s nice and fluffy! ; )
When we grabbed the fluffy bean bag, Mickey found a few other items on Walmart that we picked up as well, including this pink stool for her vanity, and pink chair for her desk! Walmart has a great selection of kids furniture and we have been so happy with the quality pieces Mickey picked out at a great price!
Although we still have a few more things to do to complete the space, we are loving how the room is turning out! I can’t wait to show you the finished result!
I’ve linked everything mentioned in this post below, as well as some other fun finds!
This post is in partnership with Walmart. All pieces were hand-selected and payed for on our own.
